0:01Here's how to sign up for PageTruth and put your first help center live. It takes a few minutes.

0:08Sign up with Google, Microsoft or your work email. The Free plan doesn't need a card.

0:15We email you a link to confirm your address, and then set-up begins.

0:19First, tell us about your product: its name, its website and where your docs live.

0:26When your docs can't answer a question, customers are offered your support email.

0:33Next, your knowledge. Import your docs site, upload files, or write a first article.

0:43Then choose how it answers: friendly, professional or technical.

0:49Pick a plan. Start on Free, or choose a paid plan and pay without leaving the page.

0:55Last, go live. PageTruth reads your docs and builds your search index.

1:03Your help center address and widget snippet are ready to share.

1:07Ask your help center a question, and this step ticks over when the first answer comes in.

1:13Your dashboard keeps a checklist of what's left, so you can finish at your own pace.

1:19You're set up. Next, import the rest of your docs and install the widget.

Before you start

  • You're signed in. If not, create your account first.
  • Your docs site address, or a few PDFs, Word or Markdown files.

Four steps

  1. Tell us about your product

On Your product, enter your Product name. Add your Product website and your Docs or help site if you have them, and a sentence on What does it do?.

Choose Fill it in from my website to have PageTruth read your site and fill in the empty fields. Check anything marked "From your website, please check." before you continue.

The Support email is offered to customers when your docs don't cover a question. Choose Continue.

  2. Add your knowledge

On Your knowledge, add at least one source:

    • Import your docs site: one page, or a whole sitemap.
    • Upload files: PDF, Word, Markdown or text.
    • Write a first article (optional): the answer to the question you get most.

Then choose a tone and length under How should it answer?. You can change both later on the Assistant page. Choose Continue.

  3. Choose a plan

Pick how many answers you need. Free needs no card. A paid plan opens a secure Stripe checkout in a panel on the right, without leaving PageTruth; nothing is charged until you confirm. See Choose a plan if you're not sure.

  4. Go live

PageTruth reads your docs and builds the search index. You'll see "Reading your docs…" while it works; it usually takes a few seconds per page.

When it's done, your help center is switched on and you get the widget snippet under Put it in your product. Ask your help center a question to see your first answer with its sources, then choose Go to my dashboard.

You're done when

Your help center has answered a question with a citation, and the dashboard opens with your knowledge base marked Live.

If something's not right

My docs are taking a long time to read

Large sitemaps take longer. You can leave the page: choose Proceed to your dashboard, and the sources keep processing. We email you when your help center is ready.

A source couldn't be read

Open Knowledge from the sidebar to see which one and why. Why a source failed lists the usual causes.

I closed the tab halfway through

Sign in again. Setup reopens on the step you were on, with everything you entered saved.
