How answers sound, what happens when the docs run out, and how much a knowledge base may spend.
Start withSet the tone and answer length
- Set the tone and answer lengthFriendly, professional or technical; concise, balanced or detailed. Answers still come only from your docs.
- Add custom instructionsTeach the assistant your product's words, what to avoid and how to refer to plans.
- Set the welcome and fallback messagesWhat customers see before their first question, and what the assistant says when your docs don't cover something.
- Hand off to your support teamWhen an answer isn't in the docs, offer customers a button to your support email or contact page.
- Choose how sources are shownShow the cited pages under each answer, and decide whether customers can open your source files.
- Set a monthly cap for a knowledge baseLimit how many AI answers one knowledge base may use each month, so one product can't use up your whole plan.
